Tourism Central Otago invite tourism operators, local businesses and community members to attend our first Destination Management activation workshop featuring a series of presentations and discussions on how we can individually and collectively support the ambitions of the plan. To start us off - sustainability, waste minimisation and accessibility.

Guest Speaker Tony Pfeiffer, Wastebusters
Waste management, waste minimisation and the circular economy are just a few of the core missions Tony is committed to as General Manager of Wastebusters. Tony will discuss community engagement and behavioral change to accomplish zero waste with some achievable targets with examples of local community and business reduction and reuse activities and initiatives.
Guest Speaker Megan Williams, Tourism Industry Aotearoa
Megan is the Sustainability and Member Advocate for Tourism Industry Aotearoa. Her role is to champion the Tourism Sustainability Commitment and assist the industry to work towards a more regenerative tourism system and to transition to a lower carbon future, ensuring that tourism benefits New Zealand communities.
Guest Speaker Jezza Williams, Making Trax Foundation
It’s a pleasure to present to Central Otago the importance of inclusion in tourism, travel and adventure. This interactive workshop is designed to educate and inspire operators and industry to embrace inclusion, working together to create a welcoming environment to all. Days following the event the Makingtrax team meets with tourism operators who are interested in evolving their inclusive experience.
